Fear will enslave you if you let it. It’s like a prison without walls because a fearful person is a controlled person. The good thing is that you don’t have to let fear imprison you.
So, how do you break out of that jail?
You face your fears. You do the thing you fear anyway- and you do it scared!
Many people have the wrong idea of the word “fearless.” Fearless doesn’t mean you don’t feel the fear. What it means is that, although you may be scared to death, you do it anyway. A perfect example of this would be jumping out of an airplane with a parachute on your back.
I skydived for the very first time during the summer of 2004, and let me tell you! The fear is the worst right before you go out the door. But if I’d let my fright stop me, I never would have known that awesome rush I got during the 75 second free-fall before the chute opened. I never would have seen the beauty of the world below me as I floated downward, and would never have known the thrill of skydiving. Even worse, I would’ve been kicking myself later, because skydiving was something I’d always wanted to try.
I consider myself blessed to have gotten the chance to parachute and I’d love to do it again and again. And when I do, I plan to do a solo jump instead of tandem. So, if there’s anything you want to do, anything at all. Don’t be afraid to do it scared! After all, you only live once.
Go ahead. Take the plunge. Do it while you can and before it’s too late.
With knowledge comes empowerment!
i don’t thin I will be jumping out of plane anytime soon, but i do understand the importance of overcoming fear.
I completely understand. It could be something not as risky, like standing up to a bully. 😊
AWESOME! I have only done the indoor skydiving. I was supposed to do the real thing, and then COVID struck and I haven’t had the chance yet.
I’ll bet the indoor skydiving was fun too! 🤗💖 And CV19 won’t last forever. You’ll get another chance. You will, Jeanne. 😃
It was a blast. In fact, the indoor skydiving places are where they train for the real thing. So it is really almost the same, minus jumping out of a plane. 🙂 I have NEVER been worried about COVID. I think it is all a hoax about power and control.
Girl you said that right! 💯💯💯 That’s exactly what it is- a hoax! A power-grab! A trial run of Communism!
YEP! 100%. I have read so much about the dangers of the vaccine. There AIN’T no way i am injecting that poison into my system!
I’m with you there! I’m not vaccinated either and never will be! Those vaccines have so many toxic heavy metals and that graphene oxide- real bad stuff! 😱😱😱☠️☠️☠️
REAL bad stuff! Go to the VAERS website, and you will be in for a real shock.
I definitely will, Jeanne! Thank you so much! 💖
It is full of information that unfortunately, most people will never know about.
Sadly yes. Because many are either too lazy to read and research or the truth is a threat tomtheir narrative.
That plus the truth is also “public enemy #1” and is very hidden.
You got that right!
Thank you so much for this awesome motivational post. I will keep reading it every day to overcome my fears. You are amazing and a great inspiration to me. 🥰🥰🥰. Have a fantastic weekend.
Awww! Thank you so much, Aparna! 💖
I will take your advice and take the leap!🙌🏾
Awesome! You go for it! I’ll be cheering for you! 😃
Ohh that is true, it would have been great experience to jump of plane 🤘🤘
It surely was! 😃😃😃
I’d choose to stay aboard if the plane was okay and I’ve never had a desire to fly, which is a strange statement for a pilot – my husband has his commercial pilot license, and we had our own plane, so he talked me into getting a private license.
I can understand how thrilling something like skydiving could be. And, it’s a leap of faith in many ways. My husband and I took a similar ‘leap of faith’ when we moved aboard our catamaran and set out on a sabbatical When one is on a day or two long sail, alone in the middle of the ocean, a new perspective is obtained and at night, the stars seem close enough to reach up and touch.
SO, Cherie, have you been diving since that first time?
Not yet. Didn’t get a chance to go back. But I sure plan to! I think it’s awesome that you and your husband have your pilot’s license!
I don’t think I’ve ever been courageous, although, as you know, I’ve faced an awful lot of fear in my life. Parachuting or skydiving sounds a bit ambitious for me, especially as a wheelchair user! I daresay it’s been done before, but I’m not sure I’m up for that yet 😉 . I say, yet, because you never know what’s around the corner. I can hear how fantastic the experience was for you in your post, and I’m so glad 😊💖
Thank you so much, Ellie. And I completely understand the fear. My husband is terrified of heights, but in my eyes, that doesn’t make him any less of a man! I still love him to pieces- he’s my love, my man, my hero!
And sweetie, you may be in a wheelchair, but you’re still worthy of love and respect. And I promise you that there won’t be any discrimination on this blog. Everyone who comments on my blog and every one of my readers are awesome people. We’re like a community and we welcome everyone…except bullies. Here, it’s come as you are! 😍😍😍
Girlfriend, I have thought about skydiving, at least once, and you’re absolutely right, my fear of heights has been the factor that kept me from doing it. When I got over my fear of flying a little over 40 years ago and wanting to sit near the window a few years later instead of the aisle, I tried to find a way to distract my nervousness. 👍🏼✈🪂🛫
But you hit this topic on the head girlfriend. Fear keeps us from reaching our potential and doing so many things we dreamed of doing. Thanks so much for this motivational push Cherie! 👏🏼 I’m still not keen on the skydiving part yet, but until then I will conquer my fears with my feet planted on the ground!!! LOL 😜🚶🏽♀️🧍🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🥰
I completely understand, sweetie! My husband is terrified of heights! But he’s still very bit of a man to me! He’s my hero! I ain’t mad atcha, girl! Sending you much love! 😍😍😍😍
You have the most amazing strength girlfriend. What a quality to have! The support you give your family is so admirable and I give you mad respect girlfriend! 🥰👍🏼😍💖🥂
Thank you so much, sweetie! 🤗😘🤗😘💖🌺🌞
Oh girl, it’s always a pleasure to tell the truth!!! 🤗💖😍 Now get your butt outside and enjoy that fresh air!!! 🌞😜💐😘🥰🦋
I’m already there! 🌞💖🌺🌷🌼🌻
I would love to go skydiving, but I am going indoor skydiving next week. I went for the first time in March, and my husband had the other voucher, but didn’t want to do it.
That’s awesome! I wish you lots of fun! And I have no doubt it will be an awesome experience! 😎
I love the line…” You only live once*👌
I always loved it too because it’s so true!
Facing fear head on can be so so rewarding! I will have to do that a lot in the next few months!
It sure can, can’t it! You’ll have adventures you never knew you could have! 😊😍
Thank you for liking my post ! I appreciate all your posts, but my like button still no working, I am very sorry. Have a nice day (or evening) ! Diana
You’re most welcome, Diana. Maybe WordPress tech support will fix whatever glitch that may be causing it. I wish you all the best, sweetie! 😊💖
“Don’t let fear imprison you.” Good advice.
Thank you so much! 🤗

Ooo, thank you so much! 💖 Sich a beautiful poem!
Well done on your parachute jumps. It was something I always wanted to do.
Thank you so much, Michael! 😊
what fun Cherie. Our alarm went off at 4 in the morning to go when we were on vacation and we both looked at each other and went back to sleep. lol I’ve never looked back. 😂 oh wait and ours was only a hot air balloon ride.. hahahahhaa
Oh wowww, Cindy! That’s another thing I want to do in the future! I’ll bet that was so fun! Thank you for sharing this awesome experience! 😃😃😃
You’re so welcome! Bungee cord jumping had my heart in my throat so i think that’s enough for me but so happy you loved it! 😂💖
Oh my goodness! I’ll bet it did! I don’t know why but I think I’d be more frightened to bungee jump than to skydive. I know that sounds strange! 😂🤣
That’s funny but maybe cuz there’s a guide with you. 🤷♀️💖
That’s a great point! 👍
👏👏👏👌🏼
Bravo! Bravo!
My favourite and first book that helped me go forth: Susan Jeffers’s Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway: Dynamic Techniques for Turning Fear, Indecision, and Anger Into Power, Action, and Love.
A phenomenal life changing book- the author has now passed on, but she is still out there rooting for us to soar!
Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look for this book! 💖🌺🌷🦋
Nelson Mandela has quoted that Courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph of overcoming fear. One of my favorite quotes and this post is the perfect post to express the quote!
Absolutely! I love that quote! I didn’t know who quoted it so thank you so much for telling me who it was! 💖
I’m afraid of heights but I tried the Zipline with my daughter because she wants to try it so I obliged. I was praying and at the same time screaming with both arms outstretched until we reached the end of the cable! 😁😁😁 And I promised never to do that again! 😆😆😆 It’s one good experience, though. 😊
There you go! At least you can say, “Hey! I’ve done that!” 😁😁😁
