I thank the Lord for the blessing of living in one of the free statesΒ
The states in which there are no restrictions nor silly mandates
Where we still have respect for The Lord, the law, and our fellow man
Where humanity still remains intact and we give each other a helping hand
We dance, we sing and we shout making a loud and joyful noise
Smiling as we hold our heads up high and walk with purpose and poise
We remain ungagged and have freedom to come, do, and go as we please
Yes, we’re blessed because we’re prosperous, happy, peaceful and free
Our hearts, they sing the patriotic song “My Country Tis of Thee”
We rejoice at our backyard barbecues and parties with family and friends
We make it an point to hug, pat each other on the back and shake hands
We live our lives relaxed and at peace thumbing our noses at the tyrants
We work, we play because we know they’ll never extinguish our vibranceΒ
We dance together, We sing together, we mix and we mingle
We talk, we laugh, we eat out, we date, and our church bells jingle
Red, Yellow, Black, and White we all come together and unite
The togetherness we all share is their failure to distinguish our light
Our fire burns bright what a blessing it is to live in our part of the world
In our part of the country only happiness, peace and prosperity can unfurl
We preserve our autonomy over our bodies joyfully and without a care
Of the tyrants’ evil master plan we have been long made fully aware
Popular Sovereignty is the shield that protects us from their tyranny
It allows each individual state to preserve their peace, freedoms, and liberty
We smile as we watch the DC tyrants contort and seethe with anger and hate
Oh, what it is to live freely to thrive and flourish in a free state!
Great poem Cherie! I would like to share this with people I know up North who think Tennessee is a backward redneck Southern state
Sure! You have my permission to do so, Michael! πππ
Thanks Cherie
You’re very welcome! π
This is the first piece of poetry I’ve read of yours, and it’s excellent. I really enjoyed and appreciated your words. You have so much value and knowledge to offer the world and the people who read your blog. I’m so glad I found you. I’m also very grateful that I live in a free country too (in the UK).
Thank you so much, Ellie! π You don’t know how much this means! Welcome to the Chateau! π€
If I may ask, are you based in Knoxville County? I hear the mayor over there used to wrestle before entering politics.
I’m afraid not. I live in the Memphis area.
Oh, I see. Thank you! (Was referring to Glenn Jacobs, by the way — he used to wrestle as Kane in the WWE before running for county mayor.)
Wow! I had no idea he was Kane! I definitely remember Kane! π
Great poem. Indiana is also a free state. We followed the recommendations at first until we figured out it was a manipulation. Thee we went about our business the way we always did before all the mandates.
Thank you so much! Tennessee is also a free state and we did the same at first. It didn’t take us long to wise up to their manipulation and attempts to control our lives, so we decided we wouldn’t comply and we’d do what we wanted. Kudos to your state, Molly! Know that Tennessee stands with Indiana! πͺπͺπͺ
Great poetry
Thank you so much! π
I think what makes me even more sad and angry than Captain Hair Gel and his elitist band of tyrants is the fact that people here actually want that, that people want to be slaves to the government.
It’s leaves you flabbergasted, doesn’t it! I’m like you, I don’t understand it. But! These people are, thankfully, in the minority! Most Americans see right through this crap and they’re pushing back against it!
They aren’t in the minority here. That’s the problem. I really don’t want Civil War II, but I wonder if that, or at best a peaceful dissolution of the USA, is the only solution.
Neither is the solution. In Chicago, I can imagine you guys are overrun with them. But as far as nationwide, they are the fringe minority.
I’m not in Chicago… I’ve told you in an email before where I’m from, I try not to say it publicly on WordPress for the same reason you don’t say where Oakley really is… But I’m sure it’s the same way as Chicago. π
(I guess “Captain Hair Gel” isn’t a very recognizable nickname outside of his state… I kind of made it up, although the hair gel is something a lot of detractors like to point out about him)
Oh, gotcha! Please forgive me, Greg. I got you mixed up with another blogger! Now I get the Captain Hair Gel- Newsom! Hahahahaha! I love that you call him that!
It fits πππππ
Absolutely it does! ππ€£ππ€£π
Unfortunately, he’s only facing token opposition this year and will probably cruise easily to reelection. Enough petitions were signed to force a recall election last year, which he easily survived, so the opposition is mostly focusing on Congressional races this year.
I know. It’s ways easy when you cheat.
nothing is free
so much for victory
lmao
Cherie, very aptly put my friend. ππΌππΌππΌ You know, when we think of the land of the free, we see so much craziness that we ordinary folks have such a big price to pay for freedom. To write into law a certain word that you cannot say or to try to rewrite history, which is impossible to do, drives you crazy. I think we have lost our sense of civility and respect. Hopefully, that minority where unrest grows, wherever that may be and with whoever these individuals are, will not bleed into contaminating the minds and spirits of those of us who root for peace. Now this part of your message I love:
We talk, we laugh, we eat out, we date, and our church bells jingle
Red, Yellow, Black, and White we all come together and unite
The togetherness we all share is their failure to distinguish our light
You are so right girlfriend, they cannot extinguish our light unless we give them our permission. Great post girlfriend! Thanks for much for sharing our pursuit of happiness. πππΌπ₯³ππβ¨ππ¦π€π
You’re so right, girl! They can’t unless we allow it! And sadly, so many of our young people are falling on their faces… right into their traps!
” To write into law a certain word that you cannot say or to try to rewrite history, which is impossible to do, drives you crazy.” – Girrrl, you said that perfectly! And here’s my take on it, if we forget our past mistakes, we are bound to repeat them. And they should know that (And I think they already do). It’s sad!
Booyah! You nailed it girl. π€πΌπ€πΌ Learn from your mistakes so the past does not have to define who you are or want to be. As Michael sang, start with the Man in the Mirror!!! π€π¦π₯°
Yassss! You slam dunked that one girl! πππ “I’m starting with the man in the mirror! I’m asking if he’ll change his ways…” πΆπΆπΆ

I usually donβt like poetryβ¦ I almost never read it. But this was good. Well done.
Thank you so much, Jim! π
A great blog!!
Keep sharing π
Thank you so much, Devang! π€
We rejoice at our backyard barbecues and parties with family and friends!
Yassss! πππ
I live in the corrupt state of New York. The same state that sent more boys than anyone in the North to fight and die in the Civil War. Even back then Albany and every place south of it were corruption hotbeds. Upstate is totally different. I hate that our historically rural free part of the state is controlled by sickos. But there are pockets like where I live where people do their best to live free. The church I go to fought alongside the Hassidic Jewish community in NYC to remain open during the lockdown and won. Great poem!
Thank you so much, Adrienne! π My heart goes out to you and every person in New York. You’ve been through granny-killer Cuomo and now you have Hochel. I just can’t imagine what you guys are going through. Know that you’re all in our thoughts and prayers.
I’m so glad you and your community stood up to those psychopaths and defeated the oppressive lockdowns. Know that we cheer with you! ππΊπ·π¦
It actually means a lot that you’re saying this. It’s good to know we still have a country somewhere!
It’s my pleasure, sweetie! We’re all Americans and what affects you or anyone in New York and every other state effects us down here too. We must unite and stand together! ππΊπͺ
Love this poem.β€ I live in a ‘free state’ as well. Both mentally and physically. π I’m located in Idaho where many Californians are relocating. Great. But they can check their politics at the state line. π
Thank you so much, Joan! β€ And I’m with you on that last statement! π―π
Hallelujah and Amen USA!!
Amen, sistah! πͺππ God Bless the USA! πΊπ²
