A Quick Question…

Spread the love

My fellow bloggers, I’d like to know if you’ve had this experience:

I had to re-follow a blogger I highly valued and who I never unfollowed in the first place, and I’d like to know if this has happened to any of you. Is this some kind of glitch? Because it’s annoying and it isn’t the first time this has happened.  Thank you for your help.

Yes but from my experience, the blog(s) in question reappear after some time- I didn’t give it much thought at the time, but it seems it’s happening to others as I’ve read of the same thing happening. When they try to re-follow it doesn’t work. Frustrating!

What I have done is accidentally unfollow because the “accept cookies” pop up is right over the follow button. But otherwise, I’ve not had this experience.

Me liking comments DOES disappear, however. I have to often like a comment on my blog more than once.

It happened to me many times last year; very frustrating. I had to refollow many of the same bloggers. Before I knew about spam hundreds of responses to my blogs were there. I believe it is a glitch since other bloggers had same issues but we still must be watchful with our accounts.

Wow, Tangie! That IS frustrating. But I’m glad I’m not the only one this has happened to. And I watch my account like a hawk because I have a few local haters in my area who’d like nothing better than to jack around with this blog.

This is something I will be keeping an eye on. because I have noticed a couple disappear from the total subscribers I have. But put it down to unsubscribers which can and will happen.

It happened to me too. I noticed that I unfollow some people that I didn’t mean to do. Also when I read posts on the phone the follow button and go back arrow so close that I accidentally press it too, so I try to be careful now.

Yes it has happened to me too. I thought at first that they hadn’t posted in awhile but then saw a comment and realized I’d missed nearly a month of blogs. I refollowed. I think it might be a glitch in the system…. Hopefully not the annoying FB algorithm that limits the number of people’s posts you actually see regularly…

Smartphone screens are not terribly compatible with my ten thumbs, so I follow/unfollow, like/unlike, etc., several times over. WP doesn’t instantly synch across devices either.

I have had the same experience with you. If you remember, I told you few months back that I had to follow you back and I never remember when I unfollowed you!
It happened to me few times with few bloggers. It’s kind of a glitch probably, don’t worry dear Cherie, it happens sometimes 😉😉

In every instance I’ve come upon, I accidentally hit the unfollow button. It’s in a tricky location, that button. Then, often when you try to refollow, if you hit the button twice it won’t let you refollow the blog… it’s kooky, but in every instance I’ve found it to be my error.

I won’t kid you. Unfortunately, to get a slew of followers, it takes a lot of time and hard work. But it can be done. Don’t give up. You have a lot of value in your blog, Geoff!

That happens to me a lot – and not just blogs – podcasts, etc., too. Mainly it happens if the information is considered to be conservative a.k.a. not politically correct.
Hopefully this insult to our first amendment will be corrected.

That’s pretty weird. I know if a blog owner doesn’t want you following them they can delete you…Very peculiar. I hope you will post about any findings.

Cherie, I have heard someone else mention this lately; which I realise wouldn’t stand much scrutiny in a court of law (LOL), but, yeah, I’ve heard folk say the same. Can you mention it to the WP prez or whatever they call themselves?

    Good luck x
