Alert!

Spread the love

Attention fellow bloggers and readers. There is something going on with WordPress. I cannot like posts now and this has gone on for several hours. Also, WordPress won’t let me follow new blogs that I like, this has been going on for two and a half weeks. I don’t know what is going on. I’ve already contacted support and they’ve provided no solutions as of yet.

Please be patient while I continue to try and solve this issue. And know that I’m not ignoring any of your posts. Have any of you had these issues? If so, what did you do about it?

Sending lots of love your way!

Cherie

I haven’t had those problems, they just suppressed my blog entirely in the search feeds.

There’s a good chance what you described is a side effect from all the censorship algorithms they run.

    • cheriewhite says:

Wow! Very well could be. Speaking of your blog being suppressed in the feed, I know another blogger this happened to and she was able to get it fixed in a few days. I can only imagine how aggravating that is. I’m so sorry that happened to you! 😲😲😲

Cherie! I have noticed that you responses to my comments haven’t been coming through, but if I go back to your page…I can find your response there. I have been receiving your likes…just not the comments. Thank You for sounding the alarm👏👏👏

    • cheriewhite says:

You’re very welcome, Tam. 💖 There’s just a lot of weird things happening with my page lately and I’m so sorry my comments haven’t been coming through. I will keep checking in with tech support in the meantime.

I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s one thing when it happens every now and again, but as it is with me, I can’t follow anyone right now. It’s like the follow button doesn’t work for me. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this. 😊

This has happened to me many times. WP is often wonky. It’s really frustrating. I’m not sure if it’s deliberate or a glitch.

What makes me really crazy is when I start losing followers that don’t want to be lost. I’ve gotten dozens of emails over the years asking why they have been “unfollowed ” without their permission.

Hope you get this problem fixed! Sometimes in life we feel stuck like that 😉 And when we try to fix the situation to no avail, it’s frustrating.
Thankfully this ain’t life, so hopefully you’ll have this up and running real soon!

I’m a social media and content producer professional. I believe many platforms will sometimes shadow-ban people who will like too many blogs too quickly. This is the same with following or unfollowing too much on any given platform as well. Not to say that you did this, but they may have an algorithm that inadvertently targeted your account. It should go away. I’m not sure how long your shadow-ban will be. It may or may not be a shadow-ban but I call it that, as many platforms have this. Sorry that your account got triggered.

That’s a real pain. When I was convalescing post surgery a few years ago, I used the resting time to catch up on the many posts I missed over the previous months. After an hour I was unable to like or comment. I mean, I was legit. Reading, liking commenting. It took three days before I could resume liking and commenting and the same thing occurred. It’s not very encouraging to like and comment on great posts. Makes no sense.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m hoping that maybe it’s just bugs in the system. Hopefully tech support will get it fixed. I’ll just wait it out.

I have a couple people I follow that I’m not able to like their posts on their pages but can like them from the reader… Anyway some of those posts just *blip* disappear and then a day later I find them in my feed as if nothing happened. Things always seem to work themselves out in the end. I don’t usually waste worry on them I just take a wait and see approach!

Girlfriend, our good ole tech right? 😝 If it ain’t one thing it’s another. While it’s frustrating don’t let it wear you out sweetie pie. It’s going to be ok. 👍🏼😊👏🏼

Hope you get it sorted out. Lately, my browser keeps sending me to random places, instead of the links on which I click. Fingers crossed for us all.

  9. Tonya LaLonde says:

Yes, I recently had my readership go down by 75% at least for a week. I would check and posts were in schedule rather than posted. It was weird. Then after about 10 days of that, went back to normal. Not aure what was going on. Weird.

I was once cyberbullied and had the State Police involved. What I was told was, the bullies hack into the site itself and play with your settings. Let’s hope this is not the case and is some temporary glitch. Of course I will hang in with you Cherie ❤️

    • cheriewhite says:

Yikes! I’m so sorry this happened to you, Ruby. 😫 Fortunately, I have a VPN and a pretty tight password, so I can hope that isn’t the case. I’m going to wait it out and see. Thank you so much for sharing this.

It could just be a simple glitch. Any site that gets a lot of traffic can have that occur sometimes. Or it could be a shadow ban. I would probably just take a rest for 24-48 hours and then get right back into it.

I’ve been facing this issue for quite some time, maybe a year; not sure if it’s a WordPress issue or a bug on the browser I use, ‘Opera’. I say it could be a bug because sometimes all-of-a-sudden, I can hit ‘like’. Coz of this buggy issue, to ‘like’ my fellow bloggers’ posts, I began using ‘Google Chrome’. I do ‘like’ them via my mobile also, sometimes. Now, the funny thing is, I use ‘Opera’ on my mobile, and it just works like a good fella.

  13. Digital Empire says:

That’s weird. When this happens to me, the “like” button simply disappears. However, if I bookmark the person’s “wordpress reader feed,” the “like” buttons show up just fine. It’s gotta be a bug.

    I HATE Word-Depressed Most Days.
    But I cannot move away:
They have all of my Sh*T!
Would take forever and three days to migrate to another platform and My Days are already numbered

I’m so sorry Jeff. I’m beginning to think my page is being attacked. I’m going to wait it out until Friday. If things haven’t improved by then, I’m setting up a self-hosted site. But I’ll keep this site up until my renewal time next March and give everyone time to follow my new site. Thank you so much for the heads-up!

I once had a similar issue and after the happiness engineers went through my site’s log, they found a glitch and rectified it, but it took me continuous pestering of the team. Hope they come to your aid soon. Can be quite distressing indeed.

  16. Ellie Thompson says:

I’m really sorry you’re having this problem with WP, Cherie. I’m able to like most posts, but when I comment on yours, I don’t know where my comments disappear to, but it’s not there with your other comments. Having said that, you do always reply (thank you very much), so I know you’re receiving them, which is good. Sometimes I’m unable to see any comments at all on your page, which is very odd. I don’t have this problem with any other blogs, so I wonder if it’s to do with your glitch (hopefully, it’s nothing more, and the Happiness Engineers can sort the problem out). Good luck, and keep us updated, please. Xx 💗

    • cheriewhite says:

Thank you so much, Ellie. I do get them in my notifications and I approve them, so they do show up on my end. I’m so sorry you’re not seeing them. I don’t want to sound paranoid, but I wonder if my page is being attacked by a malicious internet user. I should find something out within the next few days. I’m also setting up a self-hosted site on Friday and will let you know when it’s up and running. Thank you so much for your patience, sweetie! 💖🌹🌺🌻💐

It more than likely is hackers. I am not a authority in the matter , but I can promise you that Word Press more than likely would not do this, it would not benefit them. Hackers are in my everyday life, it is a regular thing they do. They hack individuals that are trying to put out a good word. They hack those whom are trying to like others post. They hack those that are positive. It is a thing today. Still this too shall pass. My suggestion is to “chat” with Word Press and the Happy Engineers and make them aware of this clicking the option “Something is not working” and you will probably get assistance.
    Stay positive Girl*
