This is tragic and maybe she should be allowed to change her name or something or at the very least, it should not bar her from future employment. I experienced some workplace bullying once upon a time. Though management took it seriously, it was justified on the grounds that I made too many mistakes. So, bullying was used as a means of performance management in my case.
I totally agree, Michael. And I think she did change her name. I know I would have changed mine.
And yes, sometimes bullying is disguised behind evals and so-called teachable moments.
