The bad news first! The new site isn’t up yet but we’re working on it. The good news is that Automattic has given me back my ability to reciprocate and I’m grateful for that. Know that I’m still going self-hosted when my brother gets back from vacation and I thank you all for your support during the time I couldn’t support you in return! This speaks volumes about the goodness in your characters and I will be eternally thankful!
In the meantime, not only will I take a much-needed break, but when I get back to work, I will be careful and only read and like 25 posts per day from now on as opposed to the 50-100 posts I was reading before (and rarely did I get to 100). I will go down my list of followers as I’ve figured out a way to see the complete list and not only the latest thousand. I will follow about 5 new blogs I like per day and the bloggers who follow me so that this doesn’t happen again.
I look forward to engaging with each and every one of you! 😊🤗
I’m glad to hear this, Cherie. I didn’t realize they monitored likes so much. This is good to know.
Me neither. From what I was told, this is something they only started recently. And I believe it’s going to be bad for business. Bloggers will go elsewhere if they feel they’re being limited. They’ll go down like the Titanic. Writers like their freedom to create and to share and reciprocate.
So true. Especially since connecting with other bloggers is such a big part of blogging. That’s not good for business at all.
You bet it isn’t, girl! Sadly, the lift was short lived and I’m now back in the same boat. They reinstated the flagged status on this blog. But this is the last post I’ll give this subject because I don’t want to come across as being a complainer and I don’t want to give it any more power. So, the next time I bring it up, it will be when the problem is finally solved and there’s confirmation that it’s been solved. But know that it may take a while because I don’t know when they plan to lift this flag. It could be a week, a month, a year, or longer. The most painful thing is the not knowing when this will be over. Thank you so much for your kindness, patience and support, Sara. It means more than you know! 💖🥰😍🤗😘
Oh my. What does that even mean?
I don’t know, Simone. But I just talked to another blogger who is having the same issues as I am. Only she’s been flagged for over a month. This may not end anytime soon. But at least me and the other blogger can talk and work out some possible solutions. Thank you so much for your love and support! I so appreciate you, sweetie! 💖🌺🌹🌻
Progress, so now… breathe. It is going to be ok. Anyone who thinks you are a bot has not read your content, period.
Thank you so much, Alice! I’m eternally grateful for your kindness and support! 💖🌺🌹
Glad that was resolved, Cherie.💕
Thank you so much, Grace! You don’t know how much I appreciate you and everyone who has shown me such kindness! 💖🌺🌹
Oh how exciting! 🥳 I know you are ecstatic! 🤩💖🤗🌷😍
I am, sweetie! Thank you so much for your love and support! I couldn’t be more grateful! 💖🌺🌹
Welcome back 🥰
Thank you so much! 💖🌺🌹
Absolutely! This is a horrible business decision. I can only assume that they want everyone to pay to blog which is only attractive to those who have monetized their blog… The poets, writers and artists are going to be shoved to the side once again!
Oh, Lord! I hope that’s not the case, Valerie! That would be devastating to those who haven’t been well-established yet!
Good that things got ironed out on your side. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised that WP did that — as spammers have abused the Like and Follow functions here, to the detriment of legitimate bloggers. (I’ve been on the receiving end of spam likes and follows, so this resonates with me.)
I hope they fix up the method so actual people like you don’t get caught up in the dragnet. Still, kudos to WP for actually doing something — instead of simply condoning the practice.
I totally agree with you there, Monch! I’ve certainly gotten my share of spam likes and follows too and it’s pretty annoying. Nothing is full proof and I can imagine that many, many legitimate bloggers have gotten caught in the dragnet. I’m glad WP is making an effort to protect real, live human bloggers from spammers.
Wow..I had no idea this very strange policy even existed…Glad you straightened it out, Cherie!!
Thank you so much, Karima! 💖🌺🌹 I think it’s only been established recently.
I probably “like” 50-100 posts per day? Yikes!
I had been working almost nonstop, hon. But I can’t continue to do that. I will definitely slow down as I was allowing this to take over my life. I’ll definitely only work only in the mornings, then have my evenings away from the blog.
Self hiding is the way to go. I have heard migrating WP over can be a pain. Just remember to backup your site especially after the move.
I sure will, Keith. Thank you so much! 😊
Wow glad you got your abilities back. 😊 I never knew they were having an eye out like that. I thought that if they could see you’re not a not, thar it was enough to live free in the world of WP. It’s not like you spam like posts, you actually read them. It not like you spam comments on posts with crazy talk, you really read and reach out when you’re able.
Hopefully your brother can help you make it work when he gets back! 🍀
And I’m hoping you’ll be able to get your site to show up in the WP reader 😇 as I read and reply through that like 99,9% of the time. 😊
Wishing you all the best and I’m very happy you can be active again.
You’re very welcome, Cynni! And thank you so much! 💖🌺🌹 This means more than you know, sweetie! I think they’ve only recently began to do this.
Very frustrating Cherie. Hopefully things have been sorted now. I know I’ve had my share of issues in the past so I can understand. Happy reading and logging and I hope you have a great week. 😊
Thank you so much, Miriam! 💖🌺🌹 A few bloggers have come out and told me via email that they’ve had the same happen to them recently. I think they only started this not long ago. Wishing you a great week as well! 🌞🌞🌞

I made a huuuuge typo in my comment and I apologize for that! I’ve corrected it!
At least yours was an honest mistake.
Mine was pure plagerismsssss
I am ashamed.

Hahahaha! 😂🤣😂🤣 Sorry! I’m already happily spoken for! JK 😁😁😁
Best of luck to you Cherie ! Sorry you had to go through tribulations. Let me know when you go to your new site?
I sure will, Mary Anne! Thank you so much! 💖🌺🌹
Dear Cherie,
I had a short-time GF in San Diego who actually worked with McMurtrey… and I cannot SEE!
Need new glasses!
Anyway,
McMurtry was helping her in her production of one of his books into a stage play.
Never went no where, but she got to intrigue me!
True Story!
Turns out she was more white trash than even me.
That’s awesome, Lance. Thank you for your service to this nation. How I wish people loved this country like they used to.
So glad you got your “Blog power” back, and I hope you will still continue to be a guest at my humble “Clearing” (Don’t know if you use the Translate function to read my posts, but that’s what I call my blog in English – a green space sorrounded by trees, with a big bonfire burning in the center, and a “Great Oak” where my guests gather for discussions) 🙂
Thank you so much, Celt. If I visit any blog follower’s blog and it’s in a language I don’t understand, I absolutely use the Google Translate function and I’m so glad they have that feature now! It helps me to engage with people who use other languages too and I’m grateful for it. I’ll definitely continue visit your “Clearing” blog though. 💖
I’m so pleased to hear that WP has finally sorted out the issue. I think I should take a leaf out of your book (excuse the pun) and not try to keep up with so many blogs at once. I’m really struggling, too, to keep up with all the ones I like to read and comment on. Wishing you lots of luck with your new website when it’s up and running. I can’t wait to see it when it’s complete and ready to go. In the meantime, get some rest and enjoy your well-earned break. Take care. Ellie xx 🧡💜💛💚💙❤
Thank you so much, Ellie! I am so moved by your encouragement, sweetie! 💖🌺🌹I’ve been getting emails from readers asking me to keep the Chateau Cherie blog open and create a separate self-hosted blog. So, now that the readers have spoken, I’ve decided to do just that. 🌞
Good news indeed! I’m pleased WP came through for you and look forward to your visits – if you have time!
Thank you so much, Clive. 😊🤗 And I’m grateful for that too as I was greatly impaired from engaging fully with my followers and readers. I will definitely visit your blog!
Good news indeed! I look forward to seeing you – if you have time!
I will definitely have time, Clive! 🤗🤗🤗
Chrie Amour…Let us know how you cast off the shackles of WP!
We all wanna know!
(And I cannot type/hype—I NEED New Glasses”’ Do men make passes at girls who ware glasses?
I do
I am a slut.
Yay! I’m so glad you got everything figured out!
Thank you so much, Angie. 💖🌺🌹
I’m so glad to hear that this has been (partially) resolved! I’ve been holding my breath for you 😊 Glad to breath again now 😉
Can’t wait to see your new site!
So, I thought. At the time I posted this, I thought the problem had been taking care of and I was free to like and follow. I got offline for a little while to do housework and when I came back, I found that I was flagged again. I’m totally baffled at this.
Are you still moving this blog to your own host as well as starting another? You can run both on a server. The IP address just have to point to where your start page resides.
Thank you so much, Keith. And youre right.
There’s progress now. Hope it will totally be resolved.
Thank you, Adelheid. 💖 However, at the time I wrote the post, I only thought it was progress. They’ve since reversed course and I’m now back to square one. But I won’t stop trying to get it reversed again and I definitely won’t stop blogging. I can still comment on others posts. I just have to do it without liking the posts, which is a crock. Again, thank you so much for your support and kindness! 😍🥰😍🥰
