I like to take a selfie or two, but not every day
‘Don’t need no Photoshop to erase the wrinkles away
These wrinkles are mine and I’ve earned every line
Every day I get older as I age like fine wine
Every wrinkle is a life-accomplishment and battle scar
There are so many people who don’t make it this far
We’ll all age, wrinkle, and turn grey, that’s just how life goes
Youth and beauty may fade but wisdom and humanity grows
I’d rather grow older than to grow dumber
Too many people think that aging is a bummer
But I beg to differ ’cause, with age, life gets better
And what other people think of me just doesn’t matter
No need to hid my imperfections, I love being me
I love the skin I’m in and my family around me
At this age, I’m happy, satisfied, and free
Having pride in your age is the only way to be
Awesome, super fabulous poem! Loved it so much dear Cherie. You are an amazing rockstar. Keep shining like this Have a fantastic weekend 💕💕💕. Lots of love❤❤❤ and hugs.

Cool poem – could be a rap. (check fourth line up from bottom ‘hid’) Have a good day.
Thank you so much! 💖💕🌺🌹And yes! It could be a good rap! 😁😁😁
Being able to age is a gift and blessing. After all, what is the alternative?
🧡
Exactly, Petrina! 💯💯💯 It’s much better than the alternative! I’m not quite ready for the alternative yet, I still have some unfinished business! 💖😁
Magnificent lyrics ! Sincere congratulations ! True life begins only after experiences lived to the extreme through which one comes to knowing the true timeless values, of the identity of one’s own self, after the appearance of the first wrinkles and after the first gray hairs… 🙂
Thank you so much, Losif! 😊And you’re right! I love the way you worded this so perfectly! 😍😍😍
Your poem here is so really beautiful!! This is so powerful and inspiring! Loving ourselves as the way we are is the lesson everyone should learn. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece!🌠
You’re so welcome, Jahna! Sadly, it usually takes years before we finally learn this lesson. Thank you so much for your kindness! 🌺🌹💕
That is how I try to view life.
You’re on the right track then, Michael! 👍👍👍

My pleasure.
Great! I try to see life this way but I don’t always succeed😉
Thank you so much, Luisa. I agree that sometimes it’s hard to see behind the aching joints and slowing energy. I’m there too sometimes. 😁😁😁

You are an amazing person Cherie!

Not all of us turn gray: I lost my hair at age 20….nice post, as always
Thank you so much, Eduardo! 😊 And I’ve seen a few who ended up like you.
Aging positively! Thanks for sharing this.
You’re most welcome, Vanya! 😊
I agree wholeheartedly! I stopped coloring my hair when I turned 60, and instead told people: “Listen, 60-something women have gray hair and wrinkles. Cope.”
Absolutely! 💯 You did great! I’m proud of you for being age-positive! 😃😃😃
Brilliant! 😊
Thank you so much, Colin! 😊 This means a lot!

“Youth and beauty may fade but wisdom and humanity grows” 💖👏👏
Thank you so much, Cindy! I’m so glad you got a few chuckles from it! 💖🌺🌷
The toothless chuckle of Gandhi is so enchanting and the wrinkled face of Mother Teresa radiates so much compassion…
Absolutely right! 💯 Thank you so much for your thoughts! 😊

Embracing our age! Bravo! Love the poem 💕C
Thank you so much, Cheryl! 💖 It’s so much better to embrace it instead of fight it. I once saw a quote years ago that said, “Growing up is optional. Growing old is certain.”
I don’t mind aging with the experiences, learnings, friends and family that I have. Lovely poem! ☺
Thank you so much! 💖 And you’re right, that’s exactly the gifts that cone with aging! 😊😊😊
Absolutely Brilliant! Thanks for sharing
You’re most welcome! 💖 And thank you for your kind words!
So Positively Beautiful. I see your shine! Beautiful Soul. ❤ Stay Shining
Awww, thank you! Your comment really made my morning! 😍😍😍
Have you been listening to my broadcast on local prescriptions for the council, calibration and dark seat allocations! lol
I haven’t seen that and I’m so sorry. My husband has been sick and in hospital so I haven’t been on the internet much at all. Please send me the link and I’ll listen when I get a few minutes.
