Also, the fact that no one cared about the truth nor even asked is only further proof that you all bullied and mobbed out of pure spite, ignorance, and stupidity. And the same three afflictions is why a few teachers, who followed your lead, also bullied me to the point of considering a lawsuit. A few even escalated the vitriol because they saw me as a threat.
Those few so-called teachers were afraid that I would file citing discrimination based on a perceived disability. Why? Because they found out about the daily journals, I kept each school day, documenting everything! And I’ll never forget their reactions (and those of some of you) each time they saw me writing.
It’s hilarious when I look back now because some of you seemed pretty desperate and afraid!
And the few spineless, undeserving losers I was such a fool to call friends? (Scoff) They didn’t have the stones to have my back, which means it’s safe to say that I didn’t have any friends at OHS. So, should it matter to any of you if I speak up or stay silent?
I can be honest about it now because none of you are anyone I need to impress, and I surely don’t owe any of you anything- not even respect because you did nothing to earn it. I’ll say again. You get no respect from me.
As for the few rotten apples who called themselves teachers, I realize they only fell for your lies and smear campaigns. These teachers, who were supposed to be adults, but only regressed into children by joining you in your evil and spiteful attacks, weren’t smart at all, only educated idiots. They were also too lazy to look for the facts.
Far be it from me to put their names out there because I won’t go that low. But I already suspect you know which teachers I’m referring to. So, I’ll leave it there.
With you, the excuse was always, “I’m afraid of her!” or “She’s crazy!” But the reality was that I was much more afraid of you than you ever were of me. But deep down, most of you were already aware of it.
Oh yeah. I know and you do too. I knew it back then; only I was too afraid to voice it because I knew what most of you would do if I opened my mouth. Oh, yes. You got that one for free. I was afraid of you all back then.
But the difference between then and now is that I’m not anymore. Now that I’m a grown woman, I’m not afraid of any of you.
I don’t have to see any of you. You can’t touch me now. So I can say pretty much anything I want. And I say it loud and proud. Even better, I make speaking out about people like you my livelihood, my bread and butter, and my niche!
Therefore, in bullying me, you were only paving my path for me. In trying to instill fear, you only encouraged me. In trying to keep me down, you only uplifted me! And in turning others against me back then, you ultimately made me truer friends now than I ever could have imagined back then.
Now, you must ask yourselves what good all that meanness did in the long run, and where did it get you? It certainly didn’t help you reach the top! It didn’t get you fame or fortune because none of you ever went anywhere.
I’m glad your teachers found out about your journaling. Couldn’t they have responded to the abuse you sustained with or without knowing you were recording your hurt and pain in the first place? Complicity bothers the living heck out of me. 😡
But Cherie, look at how you are touching and encouraging so many others, helping them to regain their power based on your experience alone! I applaud you girl. 👏🏼💖👏🏼
Thank you so much, Kym. Your comments give me so much encouragement! And yes, my teachers discovered my journals. One even swiped my journal off my desk- just took it away from me, then called the principal on the intercom and summoned him to come take a look at it.
I remember the horror I felt when he stood in front of the class, skimmed my journal, then gave me the most threatening look before walking out the door as he flipped through the pages. I never saw that journal again. Luckily, I kept a backup journal at home. I did a LOT of writing back then.
So much so that I still have a huge callous on one of my fingers from doing so much writing years ago. LOL
Again, thank you so much, Kym. I’m humbled by your kindness and understanding.
You know something Cherie, the behavior of adults who should have known better infuriates me! Ugh! 😡 How on earth do you make the victim the villain?
For someone to read your personal thoughts without your permission is criminal if you ask me. They did so illegally because you did not give them your permission! That really ticks me off. 🤬
Thank God you continued to write. ✍🏽 That was therapeutic for you, whether you realized it or not. They probably took your journal but they couldn’t take your talent. I suppose they thought such embarrassment would debilitate you and make you stop, but they don’t know that your spirit and courage would not allow them to take away your power. By continuing to write, they (school administration of all people) could not beat you down even if they tried to make you feel that way. 💪🏽
Girl, that’s why your platform is so necessary and very important. Someone who is reading your blog is being helped through your experiences. And those of us who take the topic of bullies, narcissism and arrogance seriously as it relates to the intended destruction of their victims, it’s opening our eyes more to the fact that this topic is far broader than we thought. Keep writing and keep sharing. Speak your truth!!! 💖🥰🤗👍🏼
I sure will sweetie. And you’re right, although them taking my journal was hurtful- and illegal. I know why they did it. They were scared to death that they would be exposed. And the only thing they did was inspire me to be that much more determined to stand in my truth. I just went home and recorded everything in my backup journal. I kept my old journals put away for 30 plus years, then used them to write my memoir, “From Victim to Victor: A Survivor’s True Story of Her Experiences with School Bullying.” I published it in 2017 and it’s my most popular book. Since then I’ve published three more books which are Fiction novels. They all have Bullying in the plot!
Now that’s what I’m talking about! Press on girlfriend, press on! Congratulations on your continued success! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You’re making a big difference in so many lives.
You have unleashed your purpose and you’re executing it very well my dear! 💖🙏🏼❤✨🤗 We’re inspired by your journey and celebrate with you Cherie! 🥳
I can’t thank you enough and I can’t tell you how honored this makes me feel.
Well you deserve it Cherie and you persevered to tell your story without giving in to the bullies who tried to discourage you! Now, go on, spread your wings and soar! 🦅🕊🦜
I most certainly will, sweetie! 💯👍
My editor, who is a professor in English and Literature, and also a long time friend of mine, put my books in a new category- Social Fiction, or something like that. I’d never heard of that genre before. So, I don’t know. 🤷♀️😊
Well, I say it’s a new genre that will more than likely bring greater exposure to your topic, which is something we definitely need in our social climate right now. I too have never heard of this type of fiction, but nowadays, marketing channels are being revamped to be more targeted to the topic. That should be a helpmate for you! 👍🏼👏🏼🙏🏼
You know. I’m pretty confident that it will too. And I’m excited about it too. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for authors!
Me too Cherie! 💖🤗❤
