4 Powerful Ways to Handle Physical Bullies

Many bullies bully their targets by using physical violence and force, or the threat of it. Nobody wants a bully to harm them and you shouldn’t feel any shame nor blame in that.  So, instead of just standing there and letting the bully pound on you or continue to threaten you, you must defend yourself. But if you aren’t the kind who believes in throwing punches, how do you protect yourself without resorting to violence?

Here are a few ways:

1. Talk your way out of the altercation.

You do this by giving the bully a small dose of (false) empathy and sympathy. Pretend like you feel bad for “the poor guy” and use the appropriate tone of voice and body language to make it sound convincing. And your body language and tone should match your words and convey empathy.

For example, you can begin with, “I understand why your upset about XYZ…” then state your case.

But don’t overdo it! Don’t say any more than what you need to say, don’t talk too fast or look nervous. The last thing you want is to come off like you’re trying too hard because the bully will only think you’re scared or fake.

2. If talking doesn’t work, leave the situation (if possible).

Find a way to get way away from the person. If you can’t get away because the bully has either cornered or trapped you, then, by all means, fight your way free if you have to. Although you may not want to resort to hitting back, sometimes you have no choice. You either fight or get your butt handed to you.

3. Call for help. Call 911 and get the police involved.

The bully may get away with it, but at least you will have a record of the call and a police report on file should the bully come after you again.

4. If all else fails, FIGHT!

Sock the bully in the nose! Sometimes, you must use the last resort for self-defense. You’ve tried everything else so you have a record on the bully. Chances are that others will know you fought in self-defense and give you a pass, which is another benefit to establishing a recorded history of your bully’s bad behavior.

You can’t go wrong with establishing a recorded history of bad behavior. A trail of records will go a long way in protecting you. Also, it helps to have foreknowledge of the 3 signs that verbal abuse will turn physical.

With knowledge comes empowerment!

Bullies with Anger Issues

Many bullies have anger issues. If you’re a target of these types of bullies, I want to warn you that things can get dangerous very quickly. These overly aggressive bullies will make you pay dearly when you don’t bow down and let them have their way with you. And they usually come back at you with explosive outbursts of rage, vicious cursing, and name-calling.

This kind of person is like a petulant child throwing a temper tantrum. Bullies of this caliber will:

1.turn red-faced, curse and scream at you to the top of their lungs,

2. call you the vilest names

3. hurl objects at you from across the room.

4. destroy your personal property

Many of my classmates were these types- people who had only reached a two-year-old’s maturity level and stopped there. It seemed that when I wouldn’t be their puppet, they’d get physical and try to beat me into submission.

Understand that these kinds of bullies can’t ask for what they want respectfully because, if they do, they’ll only be giving you the freedom to say no. They would give you a chance to cut those puppet strings. Then where would that leave them?

It would leave them without a target.

Some of them will threaten you with:

1. “If you don’t do this, I’ll kick your a**.”

2. “If you say that, I’ll beat the sh** out of you.”

And some may not. But! You know the threat is there because these bullies will give you that threatening look or they loom just a little too close to intimidate you. Their body language speaks for them. Their nostrils will flair like a bull getting ready to charge, or they face you with a threatening stance while clenching their fists. They are the classic bullies.

Realize that overly aggressive bullies are so afraid of losing control of you. They react with rage if you don’t comply or take the abuse.

As I type this, I think about one bully, in particular, I’ll call her Kitty.

If there’s one thing I remember about her, it’s her volatile temper. During the eighth grade, I remember standing in the lunch line, and Kitty shoving me from behind and screaming at me to move. She pushed me so hard that she almost knocked me to the floor.

I don’t know what came over me that day, but people had bullied me for a few years, and I finally got fed up. I shouted back, telling her to keep away from me and not to ever put her hands on me again. Suddenly, her eyes flashed, and she grabbed a steak knife from the utensil section. Back then, schools used real silverware, not plastic cutlery. And she lunged at me with it.

To this day, I can still remember the white-knuckled grip she had on the potential weapon. Luckily, the principal and several male teachers grabbed and restrained her before she could attack. And mind you, Kitty was a huge 200+ pound, and close to six feet tall gargantuan. I was only, maybe, 110-120 lbs and five foot three or four. So, she could’ve done considerable damage without the knife. Lord knows what she would’ve done with it.

Then, there was the incident in the principal’s office after she’d tried to attack me in the classroom when she went berserk and grabbed the principal’s nameplate off his desk and charged me with it. Luckily, the principal and another teacher restrained her.

So, I want to warn you that, yes, such people exist and they’re dangerous. It’s best to avoid these types of bullies if possible. However, understand that overly-aggressive bullies are the type who will also hunt you down if you’re not available.

Kitty was that type. You couldn’t avoid her for long.

If a bully tracks you down, I can only tell you this. If the school won’t punish these crazies, the best thing to do is document the bullying and keep a journal of it, using the 5W rule. You should also contact the police and get a restraining order against these kinds of bullies. In doing these things, you establish records of past abuse, and these records can serve as evidence in court in the event the person maims you, or worse. You may also need to transfer schools to ensure your safety.

Do everything you can to take care of yourself and stay safe.

The Bullying of Private Citizens by News Media

Gone are the days when the news media was true journalism. Gone are the days when the news media only went after those in power- high profile politicians and celebrities who committed crimes and participated in unethical behavior.

Today, the media no longer investigates people in power for wrongdoing. No.

Instead, they go after private citizens who give off even the slightest hint of “wrong-think.” In short, they come for those who are powerless. What they are doing is following the Saul D. Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals” playbook-

“Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”

Big-time politicians and celebrities are, in a sense, institutions because they have so much power and influence. Many have their own businesses, fragrance lines, and other huge conglomerates.

Private citizens are now fair game for media journalists (or, more appropriately, propagandists). Why? Because they have the least power. They are powerless, which means, easy to take down- like taking candy from a baby- that kind of easy.

Nowadays, our media assaults, doxes, and harasses private citizens. Which is illegal!

Doxxing cyber bullying

And while they do it, their bully journalists claim themselves to be the real oppressed, the real voiceless, and the real vulnerable people and that criticizing or even questioning them constitutes bullying, which makes one wonder.

How do you cut through all the BS?

Simple. You look at the balance of power and you ask yourself, “Who has the most power? The media outlets or the private citizen?”

Suddenly, the answer becomes clear!

Now ask yourself, this question: “Since bullies always- ALWAYS, have the most power, which is much more power than their targets, then which one is, in fact, the bully?”

Again, the answer becomes clear as crystal!

Here are examples of media who bully private citizens.

1.”CNN threatened to expose the name and identity of a private citizen who created an anti-CNN meme unless he begged and promised not to do it again.” (https://greenwald.substack.com/p/journalists-attack-the-powerless)

2. “In March, The Daily Best decided to expose thee identity of a private citizen at Spring Break in Miami and detail his marital and legal problems because a video of him went viral due to his being dressed as the Joker and uttering ‘COVID Truther’ phrases.”(https://greenwald.substack.com/p/journalists-attack-the-powerless)

3. “The same outlet congratulated itself for unearthing and exposing the real name of an African-American Facebook user whose crime was posting videos mocking Nancy Pelosi.” (https://greenwald.substack.com/p/journalists-attack-the-powerless)

So, be prepared, the bullying news media just might select you as it’s next target. They could come for you, me, or anyone else next!

Let’s quote Voltaire.

“To find out who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.”

I don’t have to elaborate any further.

If no one, especially private citizens, are allowed to criticize CNN, or any other mainstream news source, and, nor are they allowed to criticize certain politicians and celebrities, then who has the most power? Who, then, are the real bullies?

What the media are doing to private citizens is so transparent, you’d have to be comatose not to see it. Not even the word “disgusting” is an appropriate word for this. “Cowardly” is a more appropriate term.

What we are seeing is the rich and powerful pose as the voiceless, helpless, and powerless victims while they brand private citizens, who are truly powerless, as bullies.

It’s as laughable as it is appalling!
