“Children should always be brave and do something about bullying. Its not okay to stand by and let it happen. Bullies thrive off secrecy. Children should tell someone if they see someone being bullied.”
Imelda Staunton

Exactly!
Thank you so much, Michael. And sadly, it seems to be getting worse today.

Aum Shanti
Thank you so much, Shanti! π Bless you!
Sure. I think children should be told how bullying affects other children mentally and emotionally
Absolutely they should, Festo! Blessings to you! π€
Kind of ironic, considering the source…
Wow! I don’t know who Imelda Stanton is. I thought that she was an anti-bullying advocate.
You spelled it Imelda Staunton in the original post. Imelda Staunton is a British actress who, at least in my world, is best known for playing one of the most horrible bullies in the history of cinema and literature.

Now I’m curious… is there a different person with a similar name who actually said this? (I googled “Imelda Stanton” and it defaulted to “Did you mean Imelda Staunton?”)
I did. My apologies.
So did Imelda Staunton say this, or is there an anti-bullying advocate named Imelda Stanton who is not the person in the film clip that I posted?
Imelda Staunton, Greg. It was a typo on my part.
No problem, I was just curious since I only know her from playing such a despicable villain on screen… of course, just because an actor is known for playing a villain does not by any means suggest that they are like that in real life. I’m glad she appears not to be.
Me too. π
My older 2 children were bullied. It has seriously affected my adult son even today. My daughter has severe anxiety
My heart goes out to them and to you. Sadly, the affects of bullying can carry on into adulthood. I carried that baggage myself, well into my twenties and thirties. However, I got mad one day and decided that I was going to do my thing and not worry about what other people thought of me. I grew determined that my former bullies could have no more of my life.
And it’s difficult to do and the transformation takes time. But it was all worth it. Please tell your children that they’re in my thoughts and prayers. Tell them that good people still exist and there are those out there who care. Blessings to you and to your adult children. πππ
