Ouch … that’s me. Although it feels ouchy, I’m very glad you shared this quote – it is accurate, and I can vouch for that in my case. I tried very hard not to survive for many years – it was too painful. I’m so glad now that I wasn’t successful in doing that. These days, my spirit to survive is very strong – I’m very grateful for that, I can tell you, as I nearly lost it all. You have such insight into all these things. Perhaps, this was learned the hard way, too (you don’t have to answer that – it’s a bit personal and possibly completely wrong). If so, I apologise. Ellie <3
Thank you, Ellie. I was fortunate enough not to have been sexually abused. I am however a survivor of an attempted rape by a burglar who broke into my house while I was home. This happened when I was a teenager. I also speak out against sexual abuse and harassment- those are forms of bullying as well because it involves an imbalance of power and thrives on fear. Know that my heart goes out to you and that I’m hear for you. Know that you’re among friends here! ππΊπ·π¦
Aww – thank you so much. I feel quite at home here now. So glad I found you. I’m very sorry you went through such a horrific experience with that criminal and in your own home too. That’s appalling. Did he get caught by the police? You must be such a wonderful help to so many of your readers with all your insight and experiences. I value what you write very much. π₯°πΊππ
Thank you so much. ππ€π The police were called and I got to view a line-up of suspects. But because the house was dark when it happened and he had a ski mask, I couldn’t ID the person properly so he was never caught. I lived in fear for months until I decided that I wasn’t going to live my life in fear anymore and to let God take care of it.
