Today’s Quote

β€œIt’s all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self-love deficit.”

The husband of one of my father’s cousins grew up next door to Eartha in S.C. Of course, that was before she became famous. She was something else though, and had the hard knocks to prove her strength! πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ˜‰

Wow! I know that was something ro be proud of. That’s awesome! I was watching reruns of Miami Vice last week and Eartha Kitt guest starred in one of the episodes. She played that part like a real boss lady! 😍πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ’«πŸ’ͺ

Whoa, now that was really an old episode you watched. All of our “greats” are almost gone! πŸ˜₯ Oh how we appreciate life now don’t we? πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€—πŸ’“πŸ˜ We gotta carry on girlfriend! πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ±β€πŸπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

It is indeed! The love my hubby and I share is rich and full; the love I got from my mother is not. That seems to weigh heavier on my heart than my hubby’s and goodness I wish I knew how to flip the scale so that the love of my husband’s would outweigh a mother’s (lack of) love.

    • cheriewhite says:

I’m sorry your mother didn’t love you like you needed. I understand that alone can leave a huge void in your heart. But the love you have with your husband is a blessing and I’m so glad you found that. May you both have a beautiful life together. ❀️

This speaks to me deeply. Severing my ego attachment (self worth) from husband as we were separating and divorcing was the most painful experience. A necessary experience I am forever grateful for now. Building my own foundation from within has been transformational.
