I don’t know if I’m hearing things wrong here, but isn’t abuse of children with special needs a form of criminal wrongdoing in itself? You could hear from the instructors’ voices themselves how much they enjoy verbally abusing the children.
There’s a similar case in Malaysia, where a Singaporean teacher was captured on video abusing special-needs kids. Thankfully, she was prosecuted.
On a side note, things like this make homeschooling a better prospect!

I am aghast by the school district doing absolutely nothing to address this before it got out of hand, even worse than the little bit that we heard. It’s obvious that these teachers are quite comfortable with what they were doing because they have gotten by with this for far too long. My heart goes out to these innocent children and the abuse they endured. Unfreaking real!

I’m shocked and dismayed! Perhaps it didn’t escalate to the level of criminal wrongdoing but there are definitely ethical and moral standards that were trampled. Perhaps these teachers won’t go to jail, but I’d fire them immediately!
I agree, Valerie! It is criminal but sadly, the state doesn’t think so. Psychological injury is so much worse because the bruises you don’t see. And I’d disgusted at the school because usually the school only slaps these types of teachers on the wrist.
