True! Yet many are afraid to ‘remove the ballast’ that holds them down.
Absolutely. Because they’re afraid of making others uncomfortable, or angry at them. It’s sad when we let other’s approval govern us.
When I was a child, I tried to please my father, but once I went to college, I was able to gain objectivity (though it took a couple years) to realize that I spent most of my time trying to achieve what he wanted, instead of what I would like… It was such a ‘lightbulb moment’ that I still recall that thought hitting me and needing to pull over to the side of the road to contemplate it. In a matter of minutes, I decided that since I needed to live with myself 24/7 and rarely spent time with my father, my goal should be to follow my own path instead of stay chained by my father’s ideas. It was a pivotal point and I’d do it again.
I encourage my kids to think for themselves and become the person they were meant to be.
I love your story, Jeanne! And I also love that you give your children the gift of telling them to follow their own paths.
I pretty much expect that of all, but never anticipated having 3 cats who love various type of water sports…. Does make life interesting.
Wow! You have some pretty unique cats. Most of the cats I’ve known, including my cat, Rosco, detest being in water! Lolol
In other words, you have ‘normal’ cats. Purrseidon is loves boogie boarding, Katsu is a decent swimmer and can play fetch better than most dogs AND Pawsepone ‘accidentally’ seems to wander into the shower and/or fall into the tub on a daily basis.
If you’re interested, there is a photo of Purr on her boogy board at the top of her blog

Hahahaha! That, I want to see! I’ll definitely check that out as soon as I get my chicken in the oven. Hubby is coming home from an overnight trip on the road so I’m preparing a nice dinner for tonight and have been doing some housework. Fixing to sit down for a break and get on your kitty blog! 😁
LOL the cats share, somewhat – Pawsephone is the hostess on Tuesdays.
