My fellow bloggers, I’d like to know if you’ve had this experience:
I had to re-follow a blogger I highly valued and who I never unfollowed in the first place, and I’d like to know if this has happened to any of you. Is this some kind of glitch? Because it’s annoying and it isn’t the first time this has happened. Thank you for your help.

Have heard of such on other social media, bu never here. That is annoying.
It sure is. I’m concerned. It makes me wonder if I’ve been hacked. And I thought I had a great password because I don’t use only letters and numbers and I also use both lower and uppercase. I make this blog extremely hard to hack into.
I use phrases and numbers. So far, so good.
That’s great. Symbols are great too! 👍
Yes but from my experience, the blog(s) in question reappear after some time- I didn’t give it much thought at the time, but it seems it’s happening to others as I’ve read of the same thing happening. When they try to re-follow it doesn’t work. Frustrating!
Whew! 😰 At least I’m not the only one this has happened to! What a relief!
I haven’t noticed that but I do think WP is moving towards the crazy censorship algorithms found on all the other platforms, like FB and YT.
Oh my noooo!!!
Seems that way, only time will tell.
Lord, this is the last safe place we can go!
What I have done is accidentally unfollow because the “accept cookies” pop up is right over the follow button. But otherwise, I’ve not had this experience.
Me liking comments DOES disappear, however. I have to often like a comment on my blog more than once.
Wow! I could’ve done that without realizing it…gasp!
It happened to me many times last year; very frustrating. I had to refollow many of the same bloggers. Before I knew about spam hundreds of responses to my blogs were there. I believe it is a glitch since other bloggers had same issues but we still must be watchful with our accounts.
Wow, Tangie! That IS frustrating. But I’m glad I’m not the only one this has happened to. And I watch my account like a hawk because I have a few local haters in my area who’d like nothing better than to jack around with this blog.
It happens, unfortunately. But this looks more like a temporary bug than anything else. 😉
Gotcha! What a relief! At least I know now that I haven’t been hacked!
I haven’t noticed it yet, but now I will pay more attention.
Absolutely would be the thing to do.
It happens on occasion. For me, I use mobile and accidentally unfollow folks.
In addition, you can remove someone from following you, or at least you could last time I checked.
Right. You can remove people. However, these are bloggers who were still following me and responding to posts. I feel better in knowing I’m not the only one who has had this issue. Hope you’re doing well, Ben.
I am well, Friend. I am at about 80 percent and learning what I can eat without a stomach ache. I am getting it though!
I’m so sorry about your stomach. But I’m glad you’re making progress.
Indeed. Thank you. Yesterday I was able to work steadily for 12 hours with a few breaks for meals with not too much discomfort.
That’s great, Ben! Continued prayers for your complete healing. 🙏🙏🙏
This is something I will be keeping an eye on. because I have noticed a couple disappear from the total subscribers I have. But put it down to unsubscribers which can and will happen.
True. However, the people who disappeared were still commenting on posts and following me. I chalk it up to either a glitch or that I accidentally unfollowed them without realizing it.
Possibly a Glitch. I would expect it to be something in that manner.. Hope it gets resolved for you.
Thank you, Pat! Much appreciated! 🙂
Happens all the time!
That’s what I’ve been told now. I’m glad I’m not the only one it’s happened to. 🙂
Sadly all too common
It happened to me too. I noticed that I unfollow some people that I didn’t mean to do. Also when I read posts on the phone the follow button and go back arrow so close that I accidentally press it too, so I try to be careful now.
I hear you. I’ll just have to be more careful.
Yes it has happened to me too. I thought at first that they hadn’t posted in awhile but then saw a comment and realized I’d missed nearly a month of blogs. I refollowed. I think it might be a glitch in the system…. Hopefully not the annoying FB algorithm that limits the number of people’s posts you actually see regularly…
I hear ya there! I sincerely hope it doesn’t become another FB!
Smartphone screens are not terribly compatible with my ten thumbs, so I follow/unfollow, like/unlike, etc., several times over. WP doesn’t instantly synch across devices either.
Ten thumbs! I love the wording of it! 😁😁😁
I have had the same experience with you. If you remember, I told you few months back that I had to follow you back and I never remember when I unfollowed you!
It happened to me few times with few bloggers. It’s kind of a glitch probably, don’t worry dear Cherie, it happens sometimes 😉😉
Thank you so much. I feel better knowing that it isn’t just me it’s happening to! <3
In every instance I’ve come upon, I accidentally hit the unfollow button. It’s in a tricky location, that button. Then, often when you try to refollow, if you hit the button twice it won’t let you refollow the blog… it’s kooky, but in every instance I’ve found it to be my error.
I’ve thought about that too today and that’s very possible. 🙂
Yes, bgddyjim. This makes sense to me. I have a similar thing with the like/dislike button on YT! 🙂
I wondered why I have so few followers!
I won’t kid you. Unfortunately, to get a slew of followers, it takes a lot of time and hard work. But it can be done. Don’t give up. You have a lot of value in your blog, Geoff!
That happens to me a lot – and not just blogs – podcasts, etc., too. Mainly it happens if the information is considered to be conservative a.k.a. not politically correct.
Hopefully this insult to our first amendment will be corrected.
That’s very possible. And I believe it will be corrected sooner or later.
Yes I have experienced this also unfortunately 😑
I’m sorry to hear that. From the answers I’ve been getting, a lot of bloggers have. Luckily, I’m not the Lone Ranger here. 🙂
That’s pretty weird. I know if a blog owner doesn’t want you following them they can delete you…Very peculiar. I hope you will post about any findings.
That’s true, Herb. However, these particular bloggers that were unfollowed were still responding to my posts and following me. That’s how I found out about the issue.
Weird. Sorry this is going on.
It’s cool, Herb. I’ve found this happens to a lot of people. 🙂
Cherie, I have heard someone else mention this lately; which I realise wouldn’t stand much scrutiny in a court of law (LOL), but, yeah, I’ve heard folk say the same. Can you mention it to the WP prez or whatever they call themselves?
Good luck x
I have and the WP team says that WP has a few bugs they’re trying to fix. And I feel better knowing that I’m not the only one this happens to, so I’m not worried now.
Carry on! 🙂
I’m not sure I’ve had this exact issue. However, I’ve had a similar one, where I follow a blogger, am getting their new posts, and then all of a sudden, no posts in my inbox. I have learned to unfollow and follow again to fix the issue. Not sure why this happens….
It’s probably either a glitch or an accidental unfollow. I’m pretty sure I’ve accidentally unfollowed a few, though I try to be extra careful.
It has happened to me and to others that I follow. When the geeks that keep WordPress going started tweaking it, it caused all sorts of problems.
That makes sense.
It has happened to me as well. After happening a couple times I give up and except that something else is going on. Maybe I offended someone. Sometimes I share to much and it might offend some people. I try to be sensitive about that but I have noticed with blogging that sometimes I will put my foot in my month…it could also be something else, who knows.
That’s a good point. But if we’re not doing anything wrong, we shouldn’t be worried about offending anyone. These days, we have pansies that get their little feelings hurt just by reading something they don’t like. As long as no one is bullying them, they shouldn’t get so offended. Unfortunately, we have a generation that feel they’re entitled to have their heads patted and think we should say only what they want to hear and that’s nonsense. It’s sad.
I’ve had to keep re-follow a few bloggers my self in the past few months.
Yes, this happens. ♥️
…a lot, from what I found out today.
Yes, it has happened to me too.
